Last week, I needed a bit of cheer; making soap does that for me. Making a rainbow of soap was great fun. This does require more effort because of all the colours, but it looks so pretty. It's made with the oils I usually use...tallow, coconut, olive, shea butter and castor. I used some whey from making yogurt as the liquid while the colours are from annato seed, spirulina, safflower petals, madder root, alkanet root and blue oxide. Mildly fragranced with 'Sea Island Cotton', one of my favourites, it smells as pretty as it looks.
There is no better symbol of God's promise of faithfulness to His people than a rainbow. Whenever I see one glowing in the sky, it lifts my spirit, so I thought I'd bring it indoors.
